- Automatic update for standalone installations
Standalone applications can be updated at any time (as of version 11).
- Carry out a data backup.
- Go to the
Help tab in the function bar and select 
Help >
Software update. - Click on Update now to download the update automatically. This may take a few minutes.
- When the update has been loaded, a confirmation message will appear. Click on Restartto open the current version.
- Automatic updates for multi-user installations
As of version Bp Event 11, software updates can be carried out automatically using a job if the technical requirements are met. The time should be set outside normal business hours to avoid interruptions.
Caution: Updates with the start time "Immediately" lead to immediate logout of all users and should only be carried out when no user is working with the database.
- Check whether the current System requirements are met.
- Set the required Antivirus exceptions.
- Check whether the last data backup was successfully performed no more than two days ago. If not, carry out a data backup.
- Go to the
Help tab in the function bar and select 
Help >
Software update. - If a more recent version of the application is available, click on Update now.
- The input window for creating a new job will open.
- Enter a unique Name and a Title for the job.
- Select the job Type "Software update" from the picklist.
- Select "Time" as Start time/condition and enter the start date and time.
Caution: Select a time that is outside business hours and after the data backup. The logged-in users are automatically logged out of the system after a notification and a short response time.
Note: If the update job is performed after the data backup by default, tick the box "Do not perform an additional data backup, this has already been performed elsewhere".
Activate the job in the top left-hand corner of the input window.
Save your input by clicking on the icon in the top left-hand corner of the input window.
Note: If users in your system can log on to the client using a terminal server, the client must be started manually on the terminal server by the administrator after the update. The client must be started before the first user can log on or before all users are authorised.

- Authorise the user for login
- Go to the
Administration tab and select 
Users >
User >
Search. - Double-click to select an existing user from the list or add a new user. (Adding users)
- In the list of permissions/authorisations (below the user images), enable
Mobile client access. - Tick Allow automatic login in Bp mobile to allow the user to save their login data for faste access.

- Create an Info Centre view for the mobile client
We recommend a customised, clear Info Centre view for the mobile client. This is set in the full client.
- Getting started with Bp Event mobile
If the taskbar in Bp Event mobile is highlighted in yellow (instead of grey), the connection to the server is temporarily interrupted. Do not refresh the browser window. Bp Event mobile automatically checks whether the connection can be re-established.
Note: Do not use the browser's "Refresh" button, as this will end the session.
- Enter the Bp Event mobile link in the browser. The link is made up as follows:
http://bp-event-server/client/launch Replace "Bp-event-server" by "Server address:Port".
Recommendation: Save the link as a bookmark. - Enter your User and Password and tick Stay logged in to save the user data.
Note: This must be authorised by a user with administrative rights. - Click on Log in to open Bp Event mobile.
- Go to the
Options tab in the toolbar and select >
Settings to specify whether the data sheets should be opened in HTML or PDF format by default.
Recommendation: Tick Use Esc to close windows and specify only a small number Most recent records.
Save the settings.- In the
Options tab, click on
Function bar to create or change a favourites tab with your most important tools. - Click on the
User and select Log out to end Bp Event mobile.

- Enter the Bp Event mobile link in the browser. The link is made up as follows:
- Activate an SSL certificate for the Bp Event web server
The SSL certificate (key.pem and cert.pem) must be in PEM format. Convert using OpenSSL if necessary.
- Open the "Web Folder SSL" folder in the database directory or create a new folder needed.
- Save the two certificate files as "key.pem" and "cert.pem".
Example: C:\Bp Event\Server\Data\Web Folder SSL\key.pem
and C:\Bp Event\Server\Data\Web Folder SSL\cert.pem - Go to the
Help tab and select
Maintenance >
Service Client to restart the service client and enable the SSL certificate - Enter the URL "https://localhost/client/launch" in any web browser to test the HTTPS connection locally on the server.

Port 443 is assigned by default, but can be changed manually.
- Go to the
Administration tab and select
Settings >
Technical settings >
Service Clients. - Under Webserver, enter a different port in the HTTPs port field. The Bp Event web server will restart automatically with the new HTTPs port.
- Also change the port in the URL.
- Allow the new HTTPs port in the firewall.

Setting up image optimisation
The size and resolution of any image saved under
Templates >
Gallery or in a record (contact person, item, etc.) can be edited manually. Default values for the resolution are general settings.
- Go to the
Administration tab and select
Settings >
Corporation >
Settings, then enter the default values in the Resolution for image optimiser fields. - We recommend the following values:
a) Images for quotations in the correct size and with 300 dpi
b) Images for internal printouts with 150 dpi
c) Images for the screen with 96dpi
d) Images for the archive with 72dpi - Set a maximum value to inform users when their images are taking up too much storage space.
- To reset changed values to the manufacturer's default values, click on Reset to manufacturer's default.
